Once upon a time, in a land so vast and so diverse, there was a country called Canada. It didn’t have many elephants but many believed it had ten provinces. That idea of ten united provinces into one country simply wasn’t true. In fact if a US President tried to take over our country, he wouldn’t collect a 51st State … he’d collect 60! Even ChatGPT didn’t have access to some of the information in this article, so likely some of it will be new and refreshing to you. Buckle up😊 Books, documents and even the internet are wiped cleaned to keep knowledge secret and to keep you controlled. But truth has a way of slipping through cracks, whispering to the men and women who are ready to awaken. Canada is more than maps, flags, or laws. It is a living story of men and women, communities, and land, with power hidden in plain sight — sometimes in the form of secret letters, secret statutes, and offices that pretend to hold all the authority. The Myth and Reality of Confederation For generations, men and women were told that Canada’s provinces agreed to join together in a smooth, consensual union. That story is charming but mostly false: “The story of Confederation is a myth and those that think that Sir John A. Macdonald was the ‘Father of Confederation’ know little about this question” (Page 15, BNA Act commentary). No signed agreements ever united the provinces, and no certified copy of the British North America Act was ever brought to Canada! Imagine a document upon which the country was founded, never finding its way to Ottawa. There is dog eared picture of page 6 of the BNA Act that I’ll include at the bottom of this article. In other words, Canada’s legal framework was largely imposed from afar, without asking the men and women who lived here. If there is no constitution of Canada then every Prime Minister since — including Mackenzie King, Prime Minister of Canada, 1921–1948 — has participated in governing a country built on the appearance of law rather than verified consent. Lessons from History: Don’t Lose Your Head A long, long time ago(19 November 1600 – 30 January 1649) , across the Atlantic ocean far away lived a King in England named Charles I. He tried to rule without listening to the people. He made laws, collected taxes, and ignored those he governed. The people resisted. On January 30, 1649, King Charles was beheaded. Page 9 of the BNA act reminds us of this example and that “the people under God are the origin of all power”. The people have the power to depose an authority from office. I don’t like politicians mandating bioweapon injections into our men, women and children but let’s give them the opportunity for transformation without the guillotine. “The lesson is timeless: leaders who ignore consent and accountability eventually lose their head 😊” Governance without consent is unstable — whether across the ocean in 1649 or across Canada today. The Canadian Comedy of Governance: A Tongue-in-Cheek Guide Before 1947, the Governor General answered to London, effectively acting as a British bureaucrat wearing a maple-leaf pin. Then came the Letters Patent of 1947, signed by King George VI on Mackenzie King’s advice, giving the Governor General the authority to act as the Sovereign’s stand-in—but only in theory. In practice, it’s like handing someone a Ferrari and saying, “Drive carefully… but don’t drive faster than 20 km/h… unless everyone agrees you can.” The BNA Act of 1867, Canada’s “founding script,” never mentions the Prime Minister. That’s right: legally speaking, the Prime Minister does not exist. Mackenzie King, clever as a fox with a stack of parchment, pretended otherwise, running the country through conventions, secret memos, and polite nods from the Crown. In other words, the office exists only as long as everyone keeps pretending the emperor has clothes. Spoiler alert: the emperor (Prime Minister) has no power. The Governor General—currently Mary Simon—is technically a Swiss Army knife of constitutional power. She can appoint or dismiss ministers, dissolve Parliament, and generally keep the government running… or not. In Nova Scotia, His Honour Mike Savage can do the same at the provincial level. Read the BNA Act closely, and suddenly it looks like someone built a castle on sand, handed the keys to a Monopoly banker, and said, “Good luck governing!” The Punchline: Canada’s government is a mix of ceremonial theater, legal fiction, and practical democracy. The Prime Minister? He’s the emperor with no clothes. The Governor General? A stand-in with real tools. And you, the man or woman living on the land? You’ve been laughing politely while the script plays out…. ( if you know this information) Action Steps to Correct the Comedy:
Awakening Matriarchal Power Here is the magical part: each woman carries a spark of love, wisdom, and sovereign power. When she speaks her Matriarchal Declaration aloud, she awakens what has always been within her. The illusions—letters patent, Prime Ministers, and patriarchal laws—exist only to remind men and women of their brilliance. Matriarchal Doctrine of Sovereignty I stand as a matriarchal woman of Indigenous roots. Our sovereignty is:
"I freed a thousand slaves. I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves." ~Harriet Tubman Knowledge is freedom. Speaking your truth is liberation. Acting from that truth is sovereignty. A Call to Awaken Look to the elephants: the herd moves with purpose, guided by the matriarchs. The young follow, the elders protect, and the entire community thrives under the guidance of wisdom, experience, and love. This is the model of true leadership--matriarchal, grounded, life-giving, and deeply aware. Now is the time for each of us to step fully into that power. Let the spark within you ignite love, wisdom, and authority. Let the matriarchal principles of balance, care, and truth guide our communities and our nations. Canada—or any land you inhabit—gains strength not from offices or legal fictions, but from those who awaken, speak, and act. Follow the lead of the matriarchs, walk with courage, and allow the power of ancestral, matriarchal law to rise and be seen, felt, and honoured. The matriarchs are calling. Step forward. Lead. Protect. Teach. Love. And let the brilliance that has always been yours shine fully into the world. References
