![]() Your Vision Refines With Time But Your Purpose Is Birthed With You. Your purpose is similar now to what it was when you were four! When you believed: you could leap tall buildings in a single bound; you could connect with animals and nature hearing the universal voice; you knew that your thoughts and wishes happened quicker when you said them out loud; and that you could heal and be healed with this love and understanding. In the wisdom and imagination of youth there are no barriers to a what you love. It breathes endless possibilities of the planet. What was it that you loved to do? Were you playing a certain instrument? Were you building, drawing or creating in other artistic ways? Did you have a command of languages, writing or sports? If your family, your teachers, your bankers, your churches or your governments put no restrictions on you, what would you be doing? What fears have you placed upon you own capabilities- Fear of not being smart enough? Fear of not making enough money? Fear of what others will think? or any combination of these and many more....... What or who is holding you back? "Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.” It is your fear that holds you captive. Easy for Yoda to say, train yourself to let go of fear, but how do we do this? Step 1 Label the fear. What is it and why is it here? (example:fear of death) Step 2 If this worst fear occurred how could you and those around you thrive through it? Set out a plan and be sure to include as many benefits as drawbacks. (example: the fear of a mother dying and leaving her children is reduced when she sees that her family financially would significantly benefit in her death and socially, her children would inherit a whole community of different "mothers" with various skills) Step 3 Attach your purpose to some service to humanity. Individual fears live in your own personal limited perspective. Attaching to a higher purpose or service to others and your individual fears disappear. Once a hunter client said he was afraid of public speaking. So I asked him, "if your young daughter got lost in the woods near your camp would you stand up on the roof and speak to a thousand men who had gathered to help you find her and explain the layout of the land?" In this scenario he would certainly rise out of his individual fears for a greater purpose. (example: if that same mother felt her death happened in her service to humanity as a nurse and providing for her family, she may view leaving the planet as noble legacy to bring to the next life) Earnestly we read self-help books on finding your purpose and discovering your gifts. Anxiously rushing to collect that which we perceive as missing. Where am I supposed to be? What should I be doing? Why do I not know my purpose? HOGWASH! “Shoulds”, “coulds” and “woulds” are judgements based on someone else’s perspective. But what you love and know is already within you. You are already living part of purpose simply by being born but it may be in a form you do not recognize. Perhaps you are finding some of your purpose in raising your family, in your social groups, in your fitness activity, integrating it into your hobby, or maybe your occupation? I am certain it is there. I had a conversation with a childhood friend years ago, telling him my "new" vision of speaking, teaching, understanding healing, love and empowerment. He laughed at me and said, “Dena, do you think this is a new concept? You were doing this when you were ten but then you called it volunteer work, and were not charging for your service.” Look to your past and present to weave the threads of your purpose. What did you spend your time doing when you were young? Critically analyze what fills your current time and physical space. What subjects interest you? What hobbies or activities capture your attention? Which space are you in and what are you doing when you forget the time? You may even miss a meal, a bathroom break or forget an appointment because you are so connected to your activity. The place of timelessness is where aging stops and living and loving begins. Where is this place for you? If you are not sure, try on different classes, hobbies or activities just for fun. Be vulnerable and uncomfortable, as this is the place where we grow. Finding that which stirs your soul is a result of the taking action of experimentation. If you are lost, find a tour guide. I'll talk about this in later in the article. Inspiration is uncovering the gifts that are already present. Once unleashed you may groom them to any form. We all contribute to a universal pulse, so that our purpose is what we are doing in this moment. The magnitude, direction and velocity of this contribution is guided by our human will and intention but service alignment, or divine will is innate. A seed bursts from itself but its essence remains constant. Vision is carrying this purpose into the future. Vision boards, flow charts, gratitude journals and affirmations of intent give you direction in your soulful map. Collect pictures of what you would love to have, save poetry that caresses your heart, obtain music and art that carves your creativity-fill your space with what you love to be, do and have. It may change by the day, hour and the minute. Stay flexible. Those that adapt well to a changing environment survive and thrive. Astrology is a powerful way to ensure you are on the most efficient path back to stardom. At the time of your birth the planets create a unique symphony in the sky that can't be mimicked again for 24, 000 years! Your earthly endeavors are woven energetically into this pattern. The nodes of the moon (the position where the moon's path in the sky crosses the ecliptic of the sun's path) are points in your birth chart that create a powerful map of purpose. The South Node is the direction you are coming from and the North Node is the direction you are headed. The South Node can be considered your karmic inheritance from past lives and has an irresistible pull. The sign and house of your South Node holds insights about the instinctual behaviors and a hidden history that’s impressed on your soul. It’s easy, but not very fulfilling to replay that familiar drama that comes naturally. If you are feeling "stuck" you are likely revolving in the old built-in patterns of your South Node instead of evolving into your Northern direction. The North Node is similar to Dharma, your destiny, your life purpose, your sacred fire. In this life, we are to take the skills, talents and gifts from the South Node and learn different ways of being. The North Node’s qualities must be consciously developed, and grow with time and experience. Almost like an Indiana Jones movie, you have the South Node gem stones, now you must learn the North Node maze to bring them home. See an accomplished Astrologer "tour guide" for your details. Your inspired purpose is your sacred fire, that which gives you unlimited energy, and fulfillment. It is reason for your existence so once you own that, it is as if you are tapping into a greater cosmic intention for our planet. Know that you are an energetic loving matrix already encoded with the plan. Life is loving and learning to navigate fears and vulnerabilities to discover your own magnificence. Plugging into your purpose awakens enthusiasm connecting with your divine spark and unleashing the God within.

1/26/2016 0 Comments Caress Your Venus and......I've been sharing natural make-up lately in a company with a mission to empower women physically, mentally, socially, spiritually and financially. It has been amazing to inspire and awaken the feminine divine- in myself and in others on a palette of colored lips and lashes. Awakening your sleeping beauty may take a splash of color, a gentle nudge or simply a kiss from a friend. Finding the magic potion, lotion, tell or spell to unleash your divine Goddess is a fascinating journey.
My studies in astrology bring another dimension to this feminine beauty concept, understanding that beauty doesn't just apply to the ladies. We all have a planet Venus in our birth chart. Venus gives you priceless insight into the ways you draw love, beauty and friendship to your life, and how you express yourself creatively. In mythology, Venus is the Roman name for the Goddess of love and beauty -- her Greek name is Aphrodite. Your Venus describes how you love, whom you love, and what you love. There is no substitute for the face to face, evaluation of an accomplished astrologer but if you'd like to know your planet Venus, the house position in your birth chart and some very basic details, check out this link, https://alabe.com/freechart/. What others are saying about beauty..... The classic Greek adjective for beautiful was derived from a word meaning hour. Beauty associated with "being of one's hour". A ripe fruit (of its time) was beautiful. Greek philosophers such as Pythagoras saw a strong connection between mathematics and beauty. Objects proportioned according to the golden ratio seemed more attractive. My son, at 7 years old, defined beauty to be "a person with love in them and hearts all around." "Beauty unaccompanied by virtue is a flower without perfume". French Proverb. "Everything has beauty but not everyone sees it." Confucius Regardless of your age, your talent or the lifetime in which you were born, the definitions are similar. Beauty is symmetry and proportion inside out with a ripening into love and awakening that which gives you joy. In 2007, a conversation with a photographer gave me a flash of beauty inspiration. He was assuring me of photo magic on a wrinkle and mole I was wishing to disappear. Apparently, because my eyes were out of focus and the depth of field was off, the photo highlighted my forehead wrinkles. "If your eyes were in focus the other details would have fallen softly out of focus and would not be a problem." He called my forehead wrinkle and my chin mole a technical issue based on his focus and depth of field. A profound metaphor is revealed in this statement. If we were focusing with celestial eyes, the other details would have fallen away! There will always be that which you love and that which you don't. In fact I believe it is your life journey to learn to love it all. Embracing your likes and dislikes brings you into the balance of love. Let's go back to the previous example for a moment, to expose my wound. (Rumi says, the wound is the place where the light enters. Perhaps by unveiling mine, light will travel through us both.) Even though the photographer said my chin mole didn't matter, someone else pointed out that it did. In fact, I remember the comment that the mole was getting bigger and the person made a joke that if I darken it with an eyebrow pencil, I'd look like a witch. So I surrendered into the critical analysis and had the mole removed. The scar it left was, in my mind, just as bad as the mole. In fact, I was almost missing the "witch" title. This experience taught me an important lesson. Be and do what caters to your own heart. Caress your own Venus. If someone else doesn't like it, then it is their problem. I hold no judgement to silicone breasts, hair removal/hair additions, Botox lips, suctioned hips, tummy tucks or lifts as long as it is your Venus giving the direction. Every action will have a cloud and a silver lining, there is no better or worse, simply a change in form. Make sure you are living and loving being you. Only then can you embrace both parts of any new cloud formation. If youth is beauty then we lose it with age? If thin is beauty then only half the planet has it? If blonds have more fun, then I must get more highlights heheheheheh (kidding). Seriously, if we capture the cosmic perspective of Confucius and understand that beauty is always there, then it behooves us to uncover it. The quest of beauty then becomes a daring adventure of discovery in us and in others. This is the hour of awakening, the “ripening" that the ancient Greeks uncovered in the word Beauty. Caress Your Venus and... Unleash Your Beauty! Perhaps a cosmic coincidence that the Venus symbol is similar to that of the Ancient Egypt symbol- the ankh. 1/13/2016 6 Comments Weight Loss in One Easy StepThe world makes weight loss seem like a task but the truth of the matter is that it follows a very basic principle- quality calories in must equal calories out. The weight loss plan however must be custom designed to the individual. Finding a weight loss program that works for you is like shopping for a wedding dress. You have to know the specifics of what your looking for and then where to get it.
If a patient comes to me for weight loss coaching these are a few of the questions we begin with to lay the landscape of the journey upon which we are about to embark. Most programs fail because they are asking you to fit into their system instead of finding one that reflects your wants, desires, health and values. Let's go shopping. 1. What programs have you tried in the past, what worked and what didn't? 2. What is your current health condition? Are you taking any medications? 3. How much weight do you wish to lose? 4. How much money and time are you willing to invest? 5. Are there food allergies, sensitivities, intolerance or dislikes? 6. What forms of exercise do you love? These are the basic questions to start in any weight loss program. They will help you identify the obstacles before they arise and trouble shoot the solution. I've suggested a simple equation of calories in and calories out but our current environment makes this equation a little more complicated. We live in a toxic soup, where man-made compounds called "obesogens" create havoc. Plastics in our containers, linings of cans, hormones in our food, chemicals in our cupboards interfere with our endocrine system changing our metabolism and causing us to store fat. Dr. David Suzuki or Dr. Paula Ballie Hamilton's news breaking research will provide reference for these ideas. http://www.theecologist.org/News/news_analysis/1191047/the_mother_who_exposed_the_links_between_obesity_and_common_chemicals.htm Our environment has also genetically modified and altered the nutritional content of our foods. So here we have both ends of the candle burning, toxins on one side and less nutritional value on the other, swelling our middle. Step 1. Reduce Chemicals and the Calories Take care of Themselves! The research is finding that not only are humans getting fatter but our wild animals are getting fatter too! Toxins in our environment effect all creatures big and small. Avoiding the toxins we know about and detoxifying that which we are holding currently in our fat cells is the only way into a leaner, healthier body. Eat organic food. Filter water and air. Chemicals of processing, chlorination and genetic modification and medications, tax the body and deplete its energy. Eating plants and products from the beginning of the food chain (seeds, beans, nuts, vegetables and fruit) ensure maximal energy with the least amount of effort and strain on your body and that of the environment. If it is in a package avoid it. Empty calories in processed food confuses our taste buds and alters our natural satiety point. You will not overeat on a bag of carrots :) Edgar Cayce would advise foods must be easily digested, assimilated and eliminated for health. Step 2. Increase Metabolism. After age forty you could eat like a bird and still gain weight! Your m..eta..bol..ism slows down and your furnace is not as efficient. Kick up your metabolism with more protein in your diet and resistance exercise. The research says you need one gram of protein per kilogram of body weight. The following link will help you figure out what you need http://www.medindia.net/patients/calculators/protein-intake-calculator.asp Step 3. Love Your Exercise. Daily movement of your body ensures movement in your cells. It strengthens the heart to pump blood that supplies oxygen to your tissues and works the skeletal muscles to circulate the lymph fluids that enhances your immune system. Bodies are basically pools of water, water that circulates often is vibrant and healthy, water that is stagnant holds disease. One Christmas Day, I was out for a jog and one of my neighbors half jokingly said, "don't you take Christmas Day off ?" I had to think for a moment to understand what he meant. I was thinking how can he think I'm treating patients today when he sees me out running. Finally, it clicked, he thought jogging was work for me! I responded, " I love it so it's a great gift to me, from me". Movement increases circulation that feeds and detoxifies your cells, improves your mood and enhances your energy. Find a movement exercise that you enjoy. Whether it is skiing, swimming, sex, yoga, dance, walking, weight lifting or lawn bowling, just love it and move with it! A program that combines cardio, stretching and strengthening is best. Find an activity you love or 40 min/ 4X week will seem like too much work and may be the obstacle to your success. Step 4. Think Eat Fresh and Live Lean. Why are you currently over-weight? It is serving you in some way or you wouldn't be heavy. What benefits are you receiving by being overweight? Understanding unconscious motives is the fundamental piece to making all else work and may require individual coaching around past emotions. I was coaching a lady once who was raped as a teenager and after working through an emotional dissecting process of Demartini Method, we found that her weight was in her words, "keeping the jerks away". She was wishing to be loved for who she was on the inside so she created a heavy armor to protect her heart. If it is an emotional problem then you need an emotional solution. Simply reducing calories puts you in a mind frame of scarcity, your body may believe it is starving and actually store more fat. Think eat fresh and live lean. Step 5. Find a Coach and a Program That Fits You. Your coach should be asking you some of the questions above, listening to your desires and weaving it into a program. If you are vegan then you may require certain food combinations to ensure the best array of amino acids. If you are sensitive to dairy products, as most of us are, then non-dairy options must be part of your healthy living plan. I've given you the basics of success. Take these basics, carve them to fit your desires and discover the best version of YOU. The Christmas season of cakes, cookies and chocolate is past, so clear your cupboards . If you keep these foods your home, you will eat it. Sugars not only depletes your immune system and feed cancer cells in your body but they rob your body of energy. Alcohol, dairy, wheat, sugar and shellfish are highly inflammatory foods that will give you a sensation of being "hung over", put extra pounds on your hips and make you feel achy all over. Trade in the wine for fresh apple cider. Stock your fridge with organic fresh vegetable trays, healthy baked goods, fruits, nuts and seeds of all kinds. Now we are in the season to make YOU specially delicious. If you need a coach, connect with me at [email protected]. Love you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyTTX6Wlf1Y Thank you to my cousin Jennifer for the inspiration. |
