9/30/2014 3 Comments The Wisdom of Anger![]() It almost seems like a contraindication to suggest that anger has wisdom. Isn't it just a useless destructive emotion that hurts all those involved? What if emotion is the blueprint to soul and before you can let it go fully, you must understand why it is there. What if anger is the key to unlock the doors of doubts and fears that lie within us. Anger is simply an emotion, an energy in motion, an expression of repressed fear. In other words, anger is fear turned inside out. We have the choice to resent it and allow it to burn you, everything and everyone in its path or to embrace the anger, understand it and let it go. What do you choose? When we are dealing with our own anger there is the tendency to issue blame, catering to the illusion of cause and effect - "He/she did that to me, therefore I am angry." Can you remember a time when you are sitting with blood pumping, fuming from the ears, jaw tightened, body tense ready to lash out? The warrior prince(ss) is a fear-based learned behavioral pattern for survival. The suggestion of sitting in meditation or gratitude when you are about to explode is an unlikely option. For all intention and purpose anger/fear triggers a fight or flight in response to your biological agenda. It is a feedback mechanism to let you know you are scared. In that moment of anger commit: commit to embracing the anger, dissecting its seed of fear, fighting out the truth and fly into emotional freedom. Angry day agenda: 1. Exercise your body. The stress response releases hormones and body changes of increased blood pressure, increased muscle tension and increased heart rate for example that is modulated with movement. Movement helps eat up the stress chemicals. Through a process called neurogenesis, exercise changes the way neurons interact with each other to balance your perception. 2. Music therapy and other marvelous treatments. As each of our bodies energy centers or chakras vibrate to a particular musical note so the energy vibration of music and singing also is a good balancing technique. Change your focus from your problems to your purpose. Take the focus away from your pain to examine those with a perceived greater pain of death, diseases, wars of torture and destruction. This is a great technique to shrink the significance you've placed on your angry situation and allow you to jump out of your own limited perspective to explore a wider application. When your purpose is greater than you, your fears dissolve. 4. Write, speak and examine your thoughts. When you are angry ask yourself, what is it that you fear? Instead of hosting the blame externally, look for the lesson in the emotion internally for YOU. No one can make you feel any emotion with out your consent. Why have you consented to being angry? What is the fear that the situation has triggered? In more evolved ways of thinking the cause equals the effect. For some it may seem a little strange to think you are manifesting the situation to teach yourself a lesson but asking yourself these questions release the shackles on your feet and gives you the magic carpet upon which you are granted the freedom to fly. Why are you angry? What is the underlying fear? 5. Invite your fear into a conversation; "fear, who are you and why are you here?" Once you know the name of the fear and the reason for the visit, you can make friends with it. Imagine if this fear manifested and find the blessings it would bring you and your loved ones. You are only afraid when you perceive the fear to be a crisis of pain or loss but when balanced with blessings of pleasure and gain, it no longer holds you captive. The first step is facing the fear but the last step is embracing it. You may help your loved one by sharing these ideas with them, giving them the tools to sow and reap their own harvest. Ask them to look inside themselves to find the fear behind the anger. Pushing your opinion onto them, or denying their anger (asking them to calm down for example) is like trying to baptize a cat with a jug full of water :-) It will meet with resistance. Gently suggesting to go into the anger and being with them as they find their way out is a loving act of kindness. Knowing when to be silent is wisdom. Confucius says there are by three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. Allow yourself and your loved ones to find the wisdom in their anger. Fear the fire or become the flame.

Apparently, the hot red stilettos, toned calve muscles and long legs gets you attention but the confidence in carrying it gives you your sexy advantage. In a recent survey by the dating site, E-harmony, a woman's playfulness; her smile; and her affectionate, grateful, fearless demeanor were some of the traits men found sexy. My own social media survey added to this sexy list; confidence (as seen in her eye contact, her posture, her body movements), her health and vitality, authenticity and purpose. In both surveys, the physical traits were hardly even mentioned. Men seem to be attracted towards an energy, a posture and a life philosophy more than a particular trait. The greatest news is that sexy is a mindset not a body type thus can be coached and changed as you wish. You don't need bigger lips, hips or breasts to doctor your sexy! Comfort, color and caress are a few sexy remedies. Comfort not only in your clothes but also in your own skin. The sexy factor is directly proportional to how authentic you are to your own loves and desires. A mask may be mysterious initially but lasting sexy is seeing you naked- mind, body and soul! Shoes, hose, skirt, and lingerie must not only enhance your features but allow you to move with comfort and ease. If I can't run to catch a taxi in a pair of heels and balance on one foot and do a side kick, I generally don't buy them :) Comfort allows your confident, playful, enthusiastic self to emerge, showing just enough skin and heart to stimulate the imagination. Color is a wavelength of energy and is a seasoned personal pallet within itself. Various studies have been conducted exploring color psychology and color therapy. Many of them have found that the colors you wear actually effect how others perceive how attractive you are. Red has been portraying the color of love for centuries and black gives you an instant sense of mystery and sophistication. Colors provoke emotions and feelings so in combination hues that make your skin, eyes and hair glow, you envelope the Goddess. Take note in which colors you receive compliments upon then scan the retail stores for this color when shopping for your sexy outfit that will highlight your best features. Caress yourself and love YOU - stroke your skin tenderly, play with your hair, massage your body, soak in scents you love. If you can't smile and kiss yourself in the mirror before you go out, you need to pamper yourself more. Lighten up your mood with music, be playful, sing and dance and be grateful for the beautiful body, mind and heart you have been gifted. The more love and attention you give yourself, the more that is attracted to you. If you are not exactly what you love, then work on it and make it so. 9/6/2014 5 Comments September 01st, 2014Welcome to DrSexyMom.com. It was born at 7:18am PDT on Monday, September 1, 2014. It weighs a healthy 3 pages and 4 elements. I am grateful to Weebly for helping born this identity that combines the best of me. As a doctor of chiropractic, author, speaker and mother of two, sexy was a hidden adjective that previously I would not have paired with my professional designation nor my family title, but life is changing. Women's empowerment begins first with embracing the feminine of which sexuality is a foundational piece. It gives us energy, stimulates the imagination, maintains youth and connects us with our feminine essence and intelligence. Sexuality like spirituality are components of our feminine power that are awakening. It is my intention and mission to help mothers keep themselves and their families healthy, their work inspired and their sexy active. Thirteen years ago, I was laboring on the Labor Day holiday in home-birthing my youngest son and today, in another labor of love, home-birthing this site. It will contain information and advice I share on a daily bases to patients, health consulting clients, women's groups, family and friends, helping women own their power and helping men understand and expand with it. The first day of school always hosts a new excitement for families. There are new supplies, new clothes, new teachers and new friends but hopefully I've caught you before you have purchased your new back pack. Is the one you've previously provided the best for your child's spine? Do your kids load up their backpack with books, lunches, shoes, water bottles and binders until they can hardly close the zipper and it looks like they will topple over with the weight? Not only does the weight put undue stresses on the spine but then wearing it inappropriately adds further repetitive trauma. This combined mechanical challenge can cause neck and back pain, headaches, arm pain and set the stage for a life time of postural pain and problems. As a parent what can you do to keep your child's spine healthy? Step 1. Know the details of what is appropriate as far as back pack weight, wearing and design. Know where to purchase a good back pack. The back packs we've purchased at Mountain Equipment Co-op are more expensive than your typical department store brand but they are worth it. You pay for quality, ours have lasted 10 years. The adjustable straps allows the back pack to grow with the kids and the material is lightweight and durable. Communicate within your child's values to ensure compliance. Share the information so they understand why choosing a good back pack is important and give them an active role in choosing the one you buy. Make it a game to go into the store and find the packs with all the particulars and allow them to choose the color and comfort within those parameters. Children are more likely to wear it, if they choose it. For years, I was preaching the "keep your shoulders back for good health" posture sermon to my sons but it seemed to fall upon deaf ears. When I added the phrase of how broad, strong and tall they looked this way, it ignited an internal motivation and that sermon found a peaceful ending :) Empowerment is awakening to the beauty and power that lies within you.
